Hello everyone! I'm planning to lead a project called "Super Mario Galaxy 2.5", an extension of Super Mario Galaxy 2 using the Anarchy in the Galaxy level editor. I realize it's limited right now, but I think we can still use it well to create something new.

Anyway, I need artists, level designers, and people who know Anarchy in the Galaxy inside and out to help me. Thanks to anyone who is interested, and here's a link to the forum for the project, which was just created:

Edit: Our first hacked level! Design by me (pictures with black background), created in Anarchy by user "Question" (game/sky background)

You could either:
-Wait for the 3D editor to be released
-Rip the models from the game, put then in 3DSMax and use their coordinates from there in Anarchy
This is the reason why nodoby made a real level yet (except MrBean. but he used his own editor and won't release it, I guess Chadderz will only release it later).

So, could you help explain the capabilities of Anarchy to me?

Perhaps through private message... Seeing as you seem to know about Anarchy, would you be interested on helping in this project? I really need people who know about Anarchy and level editing, since I lack that knowledge.

Anyone who has experience with this sort of thing would be invaluable to Super Mario Galaxy 2.5

Thanks for any help you can give.

Well, I'm not trying to make it, I'm trying to direct it; that's why I came here.

I'm directing the project, not creating the levels. That's why I came here to find people with experience with Anarchy

Thanks for visiting the forum though, I appreciate it.

The project isn't necessarily started yet, I'm just gathering people for when things become easier.

This game technically exists in fan fiction:
http://fantendo.wikia.com/wiki/Super_Mario_Galaxy_2.5

But, I doubt it is possible to create Royal Bill, the Sand Mushroom, the Koopalings, etc. but maybe designing the galaxies (i.e.: BJ's Drill Base, Bill Base, Downside Up, etc.) won't be so bad (if there are no problems with Anarchy).

Haha, I saw that link, I like the logo (hoping for someone to make something similar for this hack).

Thanks for explaining igorseaba4, I now understand that level creating is not yet accessible enough to create a full hack.

We will continue to make art, concepts, and music until it is, though.

I have contacted phantom wings asking for his help, and I will soon contact mrbean3500vr to see if a level editor can be released! Thanks for your help.

I don't know if you actually looked at the stuff he made... but his project is entirely in his head. He has no plans to actually create it as far as I know. My project is going to be a hack, which adds one more level to most galaxies in the game. It will also have different music, cutscenes (if possible) and possibly wholly original galaxies (which will most likely just be blocks floating in space).

Now I see what you mean, he really doesn't have any trailers/gampelay pics or updated ideas. And about the hack: If it is not possible to create new objects like enemies and power-ups, then it might not be possible to fully edit cutscenes. What I would suggest is to plug in some sort of animation in the places of cutscenes. As for the galaxies, maybe use some of your ideas for galaxies that you hoped were in SMG2 when it was announced in June 2009, but weren't. Maybe tomorrow, I will post some of my galaxy ideas.

Well I can create rendered cutscenes, whether or not those could be inserted into the game I don't know. If you have any level design ideas, go to the forum for SMG2.5, there's a forum for each level (well, I'm still creating some of them, but for the most part).

Don't. Bean hacked SMG2 in a different way. He worked out the binary code on his own, and was making his levels in a binary editor. Chadderz saw him do it, and made a GUI to make it easier for Bean, as he had figured out the binary code as well (those too are so gifted). Without extensive knowledge of the binary code, the GUI is completely useless, and so it will never be released. There was no WYSIWYG editor used there. (WYSIWYG is like Reggie, where you see the level and move crap to edit the level)
