RVLution is changing.
Posted on 11-23-14, 12:50 am by MrRean
RVLution has gone through a lot of changes in the past couple of months, to make this board a more enjoyable experience to be on.

If you haven't noticed, many people have gotten promoted to Global Moderators, to keep the site on track and avoid any bad attacks from happening again.

Congratulations to those who had gotten promoted, which include:
-OrangeDude
-Grop
-Me

Due to the Blargboard port of the file depot dying from motivation, RVL user Kinnay has created his own file depot, for uploading levels, tilesets, music, world maps, and more! If you would like to visit it, take a look at it here. It has sections to register, and it also make suggestions for the site to make it a better place.

More importantly, the site now has a few rules changed, on signature heights. The limit is now 150px (150 pixels), but if you would like an exception, message one of the staff members to possibly make an exception. No promises that it will be allowed, but try to keep it under the limit to help staff save time on this.

We also now have 2 more sections over the past couple months, as well. They include the NSMB2 hacking section for looking at the filesystem of the 3ds game New Super Mario Bros. 2, and learning how it works and understanding it more. Next up, is the new Misc Rom Hacks section, for showing off various projects that aren't centered around NSMBW. Remember to read the rules on the section, though!

RVLution is starting to improve quite a little bit, keep it up guys, and a better community can be built.

Welcome to RVLution 2.0!
Posted on 02-02-14, 11:41 pm by StapleButter
After over one year since it was first mentioned, the RVLution 2.0 plan is finally becoming real.

The board software has been replaced with Blargboard, which should definitely be a lot cooler than the old phpBB. I will let you discover what the new features are.

All the posts from the previous board have been imported, so you aren't losing anything.

We aren't done setting up the new board yet. This green theme will be replaced with something better. Appropriate tweaks will be done in due time. Some missing features (like the interface to upload post attachments) will be added later on.

If you find anything that went wrong, or have any suggestion for this board, tell us!

Have fun

Hello, World!

Hi everyone! It's been 3 whole years since the last front page post, so here's a new one just to spice things up and maybe remind people that the site is still alive. (Also because I just uploaded Riivolution and don't know where to announce it so yeah)

For those who haven't been keeping up with our forums, the massive Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii project was released earlier this year. If you haven't had a chance to play it yet you should definitely check it out!

Around that same time Riivolution was updated to support the Wii Mode on the Wii U - so those of you who've replaced your Wii can still enjoy the same game mods and hacks as before! As usual, Riivolution can be run on the Wii U through an exploit such as Smash Stack with the option to install it after as a channel.

In more recent news, Riivolution 1.06 has just been released today to fix some stability issues introduced in the previous update. Thanks to some work by tueidj, those of you who were unable to pass the strap safety screen in some games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl should find everything working properly again on both the Wii and Wii U.

Well then, that's about it for now. 'til next time! (maybe another 3 years, maybe not)

Updates, Updates, and More Updates!
Posted on 09-17-10, 07:11 pm by Aaron
There's been a lot of excitement over the past week, with both Nintendo and Sony putting out system firmware updates on the same day. Now today, we're putting out a Riivolution update ourselves!

Nintendo's update was a maintenance update - not much changed at all - but Riivolution 1.03 was inadvertently affected. Today Riivolution 1.04 has been released and is working on "4.3v2" again. This time it's been released as a boot.elf, so it will launch from the Homebrew Channel, Bannerbomb, Smash Stack, or Indiana Pwns directly. We've also included a new savefile redirection feature that allows you to store your saves directly on SD, USB, or even Wi-Fi. It's a great way to keep your normal save untouched when trying out a full game hack!

Sony's push for their update was obvious, as they state that it "includes additional security features." Specifically, it was put out to stop PSGroove and other similar devices. Progress on PlayStation 3 hacking has been tremendous, and things are improving each day. We're currently at work on "R3volution" for the PS3, so resist the urge to go on PSN and hold off on updating to 3.42 if you want to have a chance to try out custom games.

Sep 19 Update: The original 1.04 Riivolution release contained a bug which prevented the channel from installing properly. This has been fixed now, so if you're seeing error -2 when installing the channel make sure to download it again.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Section
Posted on 07-04-10, 05:16 am by Omega
Hello fellow RVLutionaries!

I'd like to let you guys know about the new Brawl Section we opened up. The reasoning behind it is simple.
More and more we've found ourselves working together with the guys from Smash Mods (especially Bionic Sonic). And we thought it might be a good idea to open a little Brawl section on RVLution. Seeing as the big brawl forums have no-homebrew policies, and therefore game-hackers are second class citizens there. They might want to have someplace where they are welcomed, and can work alongside other game-hackers. I look forward to seeing you all posting there!
