Planned downtime

The whole RVLution site, including the board, will go down sometimes soon, as Aaron will be moving it to a new server.

We don't have an exact time planned. Just expect it to come, I guess.


Also no, this isn't the arrival of RVLution 2.0. Not yet. The new Blargboard-powered site will come later. There are still things to do before we can do it. We'll tell you when we're about to do it.

It might take a little while for the DNS change to propagate, so not everyone is going to be able to reach the site over the next few hours or so.

Better server I guess (as in, doesn't stop working because the HDD got filled with Apache/PHP/whatever logs).

I don't know the details though.

Mm pretty much this. The server it was on was supposed to be temporary, but I was just too lazy to move and find a better host for 2 years >.>

I know what it feels like

Back in the old days when Kuribo64 was two separate sites (blog/board), I always wanted to make them use the same accounts. Laziness is the main reason why I never did it. Another reason was that they used incompatible ways of storing passwords, but this can be addressed easily when you're not lazy.

Since we're mentioning this, some may wonder: passwords will not be a problem when we'll be on the new board. The issue is already addressed.

The board will also have a password recovery feature in case someone has issues logging in. But this shouldn't happen.
