This topic is made to combat most common installation issues people run into, and help those in need. Let's go!

1. Game crashes at the Hold Sideways screen.

Check if the /NewerSMBW folder was put in the correct place: it should go onto the root of the SD card.
It should contain 16 folders and 2 files. If it is on root, and it contains 16 folders and 2 files, try deleting it and then placing it there again; it's possible it didn't extract out of the .zip archive properly.

If that doesn't work, go to issue #4.

2. Game crashes on strap screen.
If the game crashes during the strap screen, that means the SD card is write-protected. If it crashes after, it either means that the xml was corrupted, or the files were. So, either unlock your card or reextract the game again.

3. Weird message spacing/font.
This is actually an issue on our end; we didn't add a line to replace the Message.arc and the font files on German Wiis in version 1.0.0.
Update to 1.1.1.

4. Problems with reading/writing to the SD Card/game crashes as it's about to save/game crash on the Hold Wiimote Sideways screen.

Check for following issues:
- Is the card locked?
- Is there a /save folder on the card that's write protected?
- Is the card formatted to anything else than FAT/FAT32?
- Is there less than 5KB of space on the card?
- Is there another hack being enabled at the same time?

If you answered "no" to all of these questions, try a different SD card. If that doesn't work delete this line from /riivolution/NewerSMBW.xml (open it in any text editor)

Game will now save to the System Memory.

5. Nothing is shown in Riivolution
Make sure that SD:/riivolution/NewerSMBW.xml exists.
If it does, make sure your SD card is formatted to FAT or FAT32.
If it is, then try with a different SD card, if possible (or USB flash drive).

I have a problem. Here's my SD card:

Part one: http://speedcap.net/sharing/files/2b/eb ... 99e17f.png

Part two: http://speedcap.net/sharing/files/8e/62 ... ecdda8.png

The private folders are for SSBB related stuff. I thought that naming them with a number wouldn't have any bearing on newer.

NewerFiles is not supposed to be. Copy the xml from riivolution to riivolution on your SD, and NewerSMBW to the root.

I am actually laughing right now! Thank you so much! I'm sorry for the oversight, I've only had three hours sleep...

There's a lot of demand so the servers are.. struggling a bit.

Do you have a torrent client? The torrent download may work better for you in this case.
