Q: When will it be released?
The release is being planned.
Q: Will there be a demo?
No.
Q: What are the worlds?
There's an old list in a thread somewhere; but it is NOT UP TO DATE and has been changed significantly.
Q: How many levels are there?
130.
Q: Will the music/world maps/tilesets/backgrounds/cutscenes be changed?
Absolutely.
Q: Are you editing sprite behaviours and/or adding new sprites?
Some. This kind of stuff takes time.
Q: How do I change the world maps?
You can't. We're implementing a custom, flexible map system -- tools for it will be released shortly after Newer is complete.
Q: Can I help?
If you're a level designer: no; we're fine in that area.
If you're a music composer or competent 3D modeller, then great: see this thread for info.
Q: Can I be a tester?
No.
Q: Can we use your tilesets/backgrounds when the game is released?
Yes, as long as you give credit.
Q: Does it work on USB loaders / modchips / SNEEK?
The game will be distributed as a Riivolution patch. You cannot simply copy and paste the files into an ISO because Newer relies on many code/ASM patches (applied using the Riivolution XML).
Q: I live in $remote_country and the game is too expensive to buy here!
That's not a question.
Q: Release a new trailer!
That's not a question either. But seriously, we've decided that we'd rather not release any more trailers until the game is almost complete.
Q: Post more screenshots!
... That's ALSO not a question. Anyway, we will be posting some, but we don't want to spoil the entire game before it's released.
Q: What is the "other thing"?
Skawo's side-project, "Another Super Mario Bros. Wii".
Q: What's the "classic NES mechanic"?
You'll find out when the game is released.
Q: Will the game be tested?
Yes, a LOT.
Q: Can you play as Luigi/Toad in single player?
Not decided yet.
Q: Will there be Super Guide?
Not decided yet.
Q: Can I see Skawo's photobucket account?
No.
Q: How far is the game so far?
See the Updates thread.
Q: What was Toy Town replaced by?
A world where you play entirely as Upside Down Waluigi. It is a remake of SMB1, SMB2, SMB3, SMW, SMW2, SML, SML2, NSMB, NSMBW, Pong and Halo 3 all in one. Once you collect every Star Coin in this world, your Wii gains the ability to render high-definition 3D graphics, print money and make ice cream.
"It's an awesome world!" -- Anthony the Beard-less
"Not to be missed!" -- The Toad Town Times
"It does everything, even the kitchen sink!" -- Some drunk guy in a bar at 3am
... But seriously, it's a really fun world with 100% custom tilesets, and we're not telling you what it is until the game is out.
More questions and answers will be added later.
NOTE: ask questions in the DISCUSSION thread, and if they are good enough they will be moved here.
