Not the place for this thread, it belongs in the New Super Mario Bros. Wii section.

What do you mean by 'farther'? Do you mean jump up higher?

He Means jumping longer. Have you played one of the space levels in newersmbw? Mario jumps longer in those levels. And This is the New Super Mario Bros. Wii section.

It is possible, but it's Mega hard to do.

It used to be in the NSMBW Projects section, so yeah

But I still don't understand what he means by jumping 'longer' or 'farther'. For NSLW, we have them jump higher, fall slower, etc.

By "farther" he means "farther". I can't get a good explanation, so here:
Posted by thefreedicitionary
adj. A comparative of far.
More distant; remoter: the farther shore.

If you can jump higher and fall slower, you automatically jump farther (further).

And If you want Mario to jump Mega-High. You Need to do an Assembly (ASM) Hack.

No, it's not ASM (for NSLW we aren't using ASM). You just have to edit the memory values at a few offsets

You could do it a number of ways. Directly patch the memory values, or if you want low gravity like in Newer space levels, you can use the Special Event sprite which can do that function. Else, you can create your own sprite or edit levelspecial.cpp to change the values of the low gravity to what you want. The normal values are near the top of the file. Keep the decent rate the same but change the arc, that should keep gravity the same but make Mario jump further or shorter depending on how you adjust it.

MarioDescentRate = -4;
MarioJumpMax = 3.628;
MarioJumpArc = 2.5;
MiniMarioJumpArc = 2.5;

it's in the Newer source, you edit it with something like Notepad++ or Programmer's Notepad, you save it and then you compile Newer.

This is not as easy ...
First, to make it easier you need a Mac or a Linux.
If you have only one Windows is difficult.
Since I currently tinkering around it.

Also You can install Mac OS X or a Linux Virtual Machine on a Virtual Machine Emulator If you don't have a Mac or Linux System to Compile The Newer Tools.
