It's not done. It's based on some incomplete design I drew during a boring course at univ.

Beginning part.

Needs more enemies I guess. Also I should do something about the background. Blah.
Oh also, silly logo I made quickly:

New Super Mario Bros. -1. That'd be the name if I turned this into a silly hack project. _________________________

Probably won't happen anytime soon, though. This level isn't even half the length of 1-1, and I'm already running out of ideas. :/ _________________________

It looks at least better then 90% op the (old) depot. I fail horribly at drawing designs, so well done!
The bg issue has probably to do with your zone being too high.

Well thanks for the input, I'll try my best
The issue regarding zones is, yeah, that. But if you look at the first screenshot, your NSMBWii skills will let you notice the secret immediately. The issue there is that I want the warp to occur only after Mario has fallen offscreen. But: a) if he falls off the zone, he dies, no matter what. b) if I put the warp sprite before the end of the zone, Mario freezes in mid-air and the warp occurs, which looks bad imo.
I have also fixed the design somewhat since then. For example, that pipe. I originally wanted to make it just stick out of the ground, which is better, but the ground side tiles have that gap. NSMBDS had gapless tiles for use with pipes, but NSMBWii doesn't. But I had forgotten I could place pipe tiles on layer 2 to fix it.
Regarding the background, I'll most likely just use a different one, like the one without the castle. _________________________

Mario is able to survive until his feet are 6 blocks below the zone border. I always place my SEC 2.5 or 3 blocks underthe zone, so you won't see (a part of) Mario.

Here you have a quote:
Mario dies when he touches the third square below the zone border. Did you test it? As I tested it, it was possible to stand on the 6th block under the screen (while the scroll was limited by scroll limits). Maybe it behaves in a different way if you are under the real zone limit?
In one sky bonus room I died although I set special exit controllers under the zone.

Well either way, scroll stop sprites do the trick.
The only part I dislike is that either way, levels have to be either fully vertical or fully horizontal. If you force the camera to a certain position and then stop forcing it, the transition isn't nice.
Great level, StapleButter. Thanks _________________________

Judging by the two Screenshots, your first Level is quite OK.
You also have some good graphical Skills. The Logo may not be as good as your "Riivo Pizza",
but it's certainly nice.
Status: I wanted to add Occult Balls here somewhere, but I have no idea where.

It was made quickly for shits and giggles, and could use some improvement (notice the aliasing on the tilted 'New' text, or the black line at the top which isn't really horizontal).
The 'Riivo Pizza' isn't really better, though. I just took a random pizza image and blended it with the RVLution logo in some weird fashion.
Besides, if I ever make this a real hack project, I'll eat myself. I already have a few things I'd like to see get somewhere. Blargboard, lolSnes, and SM64DS revival... _________________________
