Are you sure you don't have RiiFS already running or something? As far as I can tell, the cause of that error with the RiiFS C++ version is that the UDP port 1137 is already in use. The C#/mono version won't crash in that case but that error will happen when the TCP port 1137 is in use. So my best g...
Another point I'd like to get some discussion on while we're at it is the site's overall image. The front page hasn't been touched in years and it's looking dead. To the casual visitor there's no indication of any activity at all unless you happen to land on the forums, where it still looks dead if ...
RiiFS doesn't connect to traditional webservers, but if you run the RiiFS server program (available on the wiki) on your PC you can have Riivolution connect to it and load files from it as if it were your SD card - that's the whole point of RiiFS. If the server is on your local network you don't eve...
Sorry, was doing some maintenance yesterday and the RiiFS server never got restarted. I don't believe the second server in that list is still up, but the other two should work now.
That's good to know! I read various things about video possible format issues - you hear a lot of things. Talk of having to "force NTSC" by some, enabling "PAL60" by others. I've even heard some say that if you use component cables it's a non issue. Being new to the whole debate...
Yup, Riivolution plays out-of-region games perfectly fine. However, depending on the game, there can be video format issues. They're not too common though, and there are ways around them if you run into one.
It may just not like the network detection we do to allow Riivolution to find RiiFS without an IP. Heuristics generally fail anyway, as do virus scanners. As does Windows. <trollface />
It's not malware, the source is visible right there with the download. You should be able to tell your antivirus to make an exception for it. If it really bothers you, use the other RiiFS instead (there are two versions, a C++ one and a C# one).
I've enabled the question captcha, we'll see how this goes. I'm not very creative at choosing these questions though... I should get Omega to write some of these.
They're not the same thing, but they have the same goal: to patch a game's memory. Riivolution memory patches can be used to load Ocarina codes, but it's a more basic system.
What you see there in Another are various asm hacks being applied to the game.
