Super Mario Bros. Remix - World 3 SMB & World 2 SMB:LL
|
Before I talk about this level, I want to state that the level uses some background textures that I modified.
Download Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?3rdb1s7lhg90ovd
The download link above will contain all the background ARC files that this level uses, along with an XML document that corresponds to the folder setup that the ARC files are in.
Be sure to place this level into the same folder as the one with the background ARC files, as the level's theme would be thrown off if this level is enabled, but not the background ARC files.
Now, about the level...
Return to the world of Super Mario Bros. (SMB) and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (SMB:LL) in this level.
Basically, this level merges 6 original levels into one level. It follows the setup below...
Area 1: World 3-1 SMB + World 2-1 SMB:LL
Area 2: World 3-2 SMB + World 2-2 SMB:LL
Area 3: World 3-3 SMB + World 2-3 SMB:LL
While the level does attempt to be exactly like the original levels, there are quite a few differences, which does include enemy placements and bonus zone routes. Also, warp zones do not exist either.
Now, World 3 SMB and World 3 SMB:LL have different environment themes, which is why they're not together. The same case also applies to World 2 SMB and World 2 SMB:LL. You see, World 3 SMB and World 2 SMB:LL use nighttime themes, but the nighttime themes are not used for World 3 SMB:LL and World 2 SMB.
Anyway, because World 3 SMB and World 2 SMB:LL use nighttime themes, this remix involves those two worlds.
Strangely, while World 3 SMB has snow, World 2 SMB:LL does not. However, for this remake, both worlds utilize a snowy environment.
There are three bonus areas, with one being accessed, via, a vine. However, only one bonus area has a Star Coin.
In SMB:LL, there are green springs, which made Mario jump very high. However, nothing like that exists here; normal spring blocks replace the green springs.
Yoshi does make an appearance in this level. Because of this, berries do pop up at various spots.
The World 3-2 SMB part of the level has icy ground, along with some Cooligans. Remember that Yoshi can't safely jump on Cooligans, but he can eat them. Ice Bros. will also start popping up.
Once you get to World 2-2 SMB:LL, the ground will revert back to basic snow, and the Cooligans will stop appearing.
The checkpoint flag is between the end of World 3-2 SMB and the start of World 2-2 SMB:LL.
World 3-3 SMB is pretty straightforward, but some Ice Bros. are around to make things miserable for you. And for World 2-3 SMB:LL, jumping Cheep-Cheeps will enter the fray too. While the original World 2-3 SMB:LL has a Blooper, Bloopers don't exist here; can't jump on them in this game.
The goal flagpole comes right after the World 2-3 SMB:LL part of area 3.
Notice: World 3-4 SMB and World 2-4 SMB:LL are NOT part of this remix. However, those levels are found in my "Super Mario Bros. Remix - Castles 1-4" level.
