Super Mario Bros. Remix - World 4
|
Return to the world of Super Mario Bros. (SMB) and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (SMB:LL) in this level.
Basically, this level merges 6 original levels into one level. It follows the setup below...
Area 1: World 4-1 SMB + World 4-1 SMB:LL
Area 2: World 4-2 SMB:LL
Area 3: World 4-2 SMB
Area 4: World 4-3 SMB + World 4-3 SMB:LL
While the level does attempt to be exactly like the original levels, there are quite a few differences, which does include enemy placements and bonus zone routes. Also, warp zones do not exist either.
Lakitu will strike in the first two areas. However, unlike the original levels, Goombas, Paragoombas, Koopa Troopas, and Koopa Paratroopas are also around to make things miserable for you.
Yoshi also makes an appearance in this level, considering that he did make an appearance in Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. His eggs can be found in a fair few item blocks and brick blocks. Berries are also scattered around the level, thanks to Yoshi's presence.
There are only two bonus areas in this level; both of which are accessed, via vines, and they both hold a Star Coin. Sadly, Yoshi can't join you in those areas, since he can't climb vines.
Area 2 is pretty straightforward, but Hammer Bros. and a Boomerang Bro do pop up as you advance.
Water is found in the original levels, but since you couldn't swim in it in the original levels, the water is excluded here.
The checkpoint flag is at the start of the World 4-2 SMB part of the level.
For World 4-2 SMB, the warp zone vine still exists. However, unlike in the original level, this warp zone area only has one enterable pipe, which brings you back to the cavern, instead of warping you to either World 6, World 7, or World 8.
Not too much to say about World 4-3 SMB and World 4-3 SMB:LL, apart from getting the final Star Coin there, a few Bullet Bills popping up, and two Sledge Bros. near the end.
The goal flagpole comes right after the World 4-3 SMB:LL part of area 4.
Notice: World 4-4 SMB and World 4-4 SMB:LL are NOT part of this remix. However, those levels are found in my "Super Mario Bros. Remix - Castles 1-4" level.
