If you have or had problems by loading the title screen it may be the title logo and not the XML file. Please don't store the wrong openingTitle.arc version in the NSMBU folder, if you have another Wii version, otherwise the title logo WILL CRASH!
See below for different title logo versions.

If it still should crash, please download the riivolution.zip, unpack it and put the xml file from the download in your riivolution folder.



Intro:
Yeah, you read correctly. It's a NSMBU tileset pack from New Super Mario Bros. U (sequel of NSMBW) for Wii! And that's even possible before the original game's released!! (respectively WAS released)

Ok, seriously, only made by me. And I will continue making New Super Mario Bros. U tileset remakes. I'm going to pack a pack with a full collection of NSMBU tilesets which are already public. And as Nintendo shows more tilesets publicly I can expand existing NSMBU tilesets or make new ones. Eventually I only can make tiles which are public as to be seen in trailers for example. Sometimes I will create tiles by my own for these tilesets.

Even if the quality is far away from the original quality, it needed a good amount of work to make one. Eventually I had to spend time in it although I should work on my hack. (I would do that but I got this crazy idea and so...)

Hey, good news for people which are interested in more:
I found a possibility to avoid the youtube video bar and so future tiles won't be cut.

Furthermore, I can make full video screenshots in original full HD resolution ;) .

No screenshot for this tileset currently.
Mostly all tiles are made by YoshiGo99. I composed the tileset, the tileset's picture and I added the huge brick block, huge used block and huge ?-block because YoshiGo99 asked me if I would make a tileset from his tiles and submit it here. Still there are missing some tiles. Of course I'll also try to "rip" this tileset alone.
The flowers and the huge blocks are all static. But the huge blocks are rather glitchy. The ?-block behaves like the used block. The brick block can be destroyed but it consists of 4 block which must be destroyed one by one.

The stone hills are just available without movement so they are also static like the flowers.

But pay attention if you have used the first two versions. It has another object order now AGAIN. If you don't know the usage of any tile you can ask me then.

The biggest problem will be that there is no giant Koopa. Though this problem will be solved soon. Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii is intended to feature such a beast.

Associated are Pa2_setsugen_winter_trees.arc, Pa3_doukutu_setsugen_u.arc, bgA_0704.arc and bgB_9102.arc.
The white trampoline block with a black note is available in Another Super Mario Wii's download.

The missing rotating stars show that it will be impossible to make a perfect remake from New Super Mario Bros. U.

Actually a lousy tileset. I tried to make the best of that what I had.
The pipes can be found in Pa1_obake_soto_pipes.arc.
Did you actually know that this kind of pipes was planned for New Super Mario Bros. Wii? Eventually it's only an incomplete sprite which is actually (nearly) completely usable when using only a spinning rotation controller (it's called "Rotation Controlled Pipe" [254]).

Actually the pipes weren't planned for this pack but when YoshiGo99 showed me the pipe tiles on which he edit long I decided finally to make NSMBU standart tilesets. That means I inserted his tiles in the normal Pa0_jyotyu.arc and added a ?-block, a brick block, an used block and I added the animations for them too. Additionally I still added selfmade light effects and that's it.
The newer pipes are modified ones from the English mario wiki.

These two standart tilesets are likely the only ones which are needed for a whole hack. The normal standart tileset can be used for underground, snow and other themes too.
Contain the coloured blocks now. But the special coloured blocks in these tilesets can't be triggered or used interactively unfortunately.

Looking like a ghost ship. The same idea as I had for my huge hack project I'm working on. But it's actually a helping tileset. The actual tileset should have a Pa1 slot. Nonetheless I won't be able to create the Pa1 tileset so far.
Additionally I used Pa1_hikousen (Airship) as background tileset mostly.

It's actually the only mountain tileset. The beach rock tileset looks quite like a mountain tileset too that's why I named it wrongly.

The extra jungle tileset for New Super Luigi U to be seen in the new Nintendo direct trailer. Though, there are still missing a lot of tiles like for Pa1_sabaku_u2.arc. I only can implement tiles which are to be seen in trailers or walkthrough movies.

Please respect this work. It took me the whole working time yet for this day. It's purposed to be so sharp. That really makes a little 3D effect unlike the version which I had before.

This was made by my own. I found that picture in Internet and edited it. I noticed later that there is exactly the same picture used as in another public 2D background. The difference is that my background has no watermark anymore and perfect transitions.

OMG! you have a gift! i`m defenatly gonna use these! u the only person who has made this many tilesets from wiiu and perfected it! can u add the grassland version thats in stage 1, both the normal an 2nd for the grassland used in stage 1. because i`m trying to make the stage for the wii version but no has made the tileset yet. thank u in advance!

Just make a tileset picture from it with 16x16 blocks à 24x24 pixels. Then edit the functions of that picture with Puzzle (can be found at mariomods.com). But please give it up to me to make the NSMBU tilesets because it was my idea.

Oh, I didn't read this comment yet. It's ok. You only need to have a look in my submission once per day. Then you should find newer stuff here. There are still many tilesets which I'm going to make ;) .
Backgrounds are very hard though. That will cost very much time if I'd want to make another background.

I don't really know if I should make a NSMBU2 for Wii. It would be too much work for me. It was an idea for a good hacking team like the Newer team.

If you wanna make sure that there will be a New Super Mario Bros. U 2 you have to persuade the Newer team that they'll make this hack with my tilesets. Anyways, I can't make sprites. That should be one of the things, I can't do.

That's explained in the instructions which can be downloaded if you download the pack again. If you have the enclosed xml file (see above) you can see it in your game. You only need to place it in a NSMBU folder on the root of your SD card.

Furthermore I have already made a title logo for this game project and additionally a little animation movie for my this project's trailer. I'll post something on RVLution today or tomorrow.

Wow I can see you've put a lot of time and effort into this. Obviously as it hasn't been released yet it won't be perfect and will be missing some things but that's to be expected. Really great work. I will say this though, you can move items in your tileset image without changing the Object order. You simply need to recreate each moved object using the new position of the object's tiles.

I only can remake existing tilesets. I never saw a space tileset and I don't think that there exists one. There is a normal castle tileset looking like space in the very first moment but that has not enough tiles to submit it here. The other moving things in that castle passage can't be made in a tileset because these things are sprites.

The music note blocks exist already. You can download them with Another Super Mario Bros. Wii. The stars can't be made in a tileset because they are new sprites. As you might know it's not possible to make sprites in tilesets.

Of course it's possible to insert the star as simple image but you can't give it correct properties. I worked such often and long with these animations (much longer than max31) that I know that you can't really animate these stars. You only have 8 pictures in one tile animation which change very fast actually. In addition you only have three tiles to animate, more isn't possible. And you might know: such star would need about 16 tiles.
So even if you had an animation idea, you wouldn't have the properties and the possibility.

But remember. Newer says the date is determined in the year 2013. No chance to release it in 2012.

No, they made this signification when they didn't know the definite date and maybe the title screen which you've seen is an old one. In any case they wrote for a while that they can't release the hack in 2012 in no case because of much work for the ASM hackers.

Should be possible but I'll need some time. In Germany there are holidays and I'll go tomorrow or the day after tomorrow to my grandparents. Furthermore my progress from my hack project is progressive currently and so it will take maybe a bit longer than a day to make it.

Whether the result is very good I don't know because it's not perfect quality and the camera is hold a bit oblique.
But in any case I can make that tileset.

Yes, that's true. The tiles which I made are the only ones which I could get. There are no screenshots showing this tileset as far as I know to cut out furter tiles. I used a trailer to create them.

Well, I've already seen the first trailer and a gameplay video with camera is no good source, sorry. Of course I can improve much but currently I'm very busy. That happens if there is no animation in the tileset. You can try to "port" the animations from my Pa0_jyotyu to Pa0_jyotyu_u using U8Mii as tool to unpack and pack ARC files.

THat is the desert tileset. It needs some work but that is it. I also added the head stones, quicksand, and some stuff from Newer and some Blocks I edited. You can take those out if you don't need them

Sorry but quicksand is not necessary. There is a sprite which creates that quicksand. I also won't make a tileset from tiles which exist already in other tilesets, sorry.
Anyway, I don't want to make that desert tileset currently. You could try yourself to make that custom tileset.

If you want to try it again, here is a description:

Unpack the custom Pa0_jyotyu.arc to a directory you like.
It will ouput a arc folder which contains a chk folder, a tex folder and an unt folder.
The animations are located in the tex folder. They have .bin format and may be called block_anime.bin, tuka_coin_anime.bin and hatena_anime.bin. Copy all three.
Then Unpack Pa0_jyotyu_u.arc (without animations). There also will apear a chk, tex and unt folder in the arc folder in the output folder. Paste the copied animations in the tex folder. Rename the outputted folder (which contains the arc folder) to "Pa0_jyotyu_u.arc".
Then pack the Pa0_jyotyu_u.arc folder to your place were you want to have it.

Well, I should give the Pa0_jyotyu_u.arc animations to avoid that problem in future.

I'm currently really annoyed because another little kid's been rating 0 and possibly is the same guy who left this stupid comment on my YouTube video.

Of course I've inserted now the right pictures or when there are such problems, why don't you use the other two working standart tilesets???

Well, you can upload any .arc file but as we assumed, you wanted to upload .png files are are we wrong?

The animation should work on every normal Wii now. I didn't found any other mistake, so please define your report. What didn't work at the animations, the colour, the movement...?
I fix everything after I have more time for it.

Is this pack ever going to be updated? It's been 24 days sense the last update and if you could just take twenty minutes each day to work on it by now you would have had six hours to work on it and i really like these tilesets so i would like to see more. And another thing i think with all the NSMBU tilesets i think you should add all the other objects that are in the NSMBW tilesets like with the snow tileset you could add the fens with the snow on top and like with the cliffs tileset you could add the rocks that you can walk across and go up and down on and you know just stuff like that so that the levels that you can't remake and have to make new one you will have a little more variety to work with and i think that would be good don't you think.

Ok, you arguments are good. You can make tilesets like you want as I won't continue this submission for a while. Actually it is not important who makes them. If someone else make new ones, I still have the possibility to make it better after some time.

I know it for a long time. There even is missing a 3 x 1 tile slope (which actuall can't be made with Puzzle).

Look at the tileset's picture. Do you think, I could squash in those huge hills? No. That's the reason why I didn't (I posted it somewhere here already but it is a sprite and sprites can't be simply replaced by tilesets.)

Very good :) . You need the png image from the reggiedata folder of Reggie! which is called overrides.png. There you can cut out the flowers and replace the flowers from the nohara_u texture. Save the image, open the original tileset in Puzzle, import the new image and save ;) .

It's the object order which decides how the tiles are shown. The objects actually consist of references/links to certain places in the texture image. If you import a changed image, the objects don't stay the same. It's just that the objects look different now because there are not the same tiles on the same place anymore, due to the fact that objects use always the same places which you determine when creating the objects.
For example one object consisting of 4 tiles has 4 references to 4 neighbour tiles from the texture image and everytime when you use this object in Reggie!, these references are used at the place where the object is painted. Where references are set there will be to be seen the tiles from the refered place of the texture image.

Ok, I can try to add soft slopy pipes.
The grassland hill background tileset will contain EVERY grey stone platfrom (these which comes out of the ground).

So, Peach's Castle? Is it the last world? I should have heared from that. Well, I'll make it some time but I guess the underground tileset will be finished earlier.
Though, I can't promise to add the tilesets in a month. Unfortunately I have much too much homework to do (actually) and my custom graveyard tileset from scratch for Project "Me!" is currently the main tileset I'm working on.


Yesterday I finished all the 3D models for the graveyard fences and the graveyard gate which should become a background tileset. I asked Mr.Yakobo, if he will texture these models correctly. Then I can use the rendered fences in an extra graveyard fence tileset.

New Super Mario Bros. Me!:
It's actually my main project which I make from scratch but I have to use some tools which Newer's ASM hackers made. I'll actually only use ASM hacks from Newer, though, I still told Treeki what they could add as bonus ASM hacks (but what doesn't appear in Newer itself) so that I can use new hacks and fresh ideas.
The rest is made by myself except the translations.

Apart from that I made my first Mario Kart Wii track which isn't textured yet because of it's complexity. I'll improve the model later.


For NSMBM! I'm making my graveyard tileset and afterwards I will make a ghost castle and a tileset for a boss battle which passes over the castle. I was inspired by Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins.


Concerning NSMBWiiU I'll make the grassland rock tileset some time, in any case the green tower tileset, Peach's Castle tilesets, grassland for sky, desert, ghost house, edits to the beach tilesets...

Thanks :) . I should understand now what you mean with the item blocks. Unfortunately it isn't possible without modifiying Reggie! to overlay item images over the item blocks. I would either recommend to see the comment for every question block or to use the question block as sprite (207).

The logo is already finished but I can upload an image of it as well ;) . Did you test the logo already?

The acorn plains background was difficult. I shot a lot of different pictures showing parts of the background. I cut all the parts out, pasted them and edited a few ones so that they fit. Other parts where made from scratch with previous parts as base. That concerns the transition as well. In fact, it would be incredibly difficult to make other backgrounds. I think we need a more professional guy like Pop for this.
