If original NSB goes from 1-10, Newer goes from 4-15.

Too spend so much time on a level that you end up blackscreening and can't sort out no matter what you do or a level that just didn't turn out they way you wanted after all the work and testing trying to get it right and in the end you had to scrap it?

Sometimes you lose heart at that very moment not being about to figure something out and all of a sudden it all comes crashing down on you and suddenly after months off work that 1 thing makes you lose heart and pull away from your project.
What do you do in a situation like that?

You start again, until you get it right.

That's what I did, I took 2 days out, read a few books, (DAVID MOODY - TRUST & DAVID GERROLD - THE MAN WHO FOLDED HIMSELF both fantastic) watched abit of TV, chilled for a while, then got back on it today, and have now sorted it. I think I have just been burning the candle at both ends again and was close to burning out.

I would like to ask the Newer Team their thoughts on Newer having a boost to retail sales of New Super Mario Bros. Wii to play Newer. Could this bring attention from Nintendo to the Newer project/Team and would you welcome any attention?

My thoughts on it are purely because I think we all anticipate newer to be something special and feel it could shed you guys in a good light, boosting Nintendo's profits a little has got to be favourable, right?

I also think it could be a bit of an eye opener to Nintendo the capabilities of Riivolution and the Homebrew scene and open it up to the consumer with WiiU, maybe an authenticated level editor and depot featuring submissions by fans of NSMBW and/or Mario U and maybe even other games??

Maybe it's just a pipe dream!! Just wanted to pop my head in again and say good luck with the completion of the project guys.

I don't think the sales are affected by the homebrew scene. There are approximately 100 million Wii units sold. Even if there are 100.000 homebrew users (which I doubt), they would make up only 1 percent of all consoles.

I doubt we are even on Nintendos radar, I mean they prob have one guy in a back room who browses the internet and if people are blatently ripping off Nintendo copyright or are profiting illegally from sales of their property, then I would image they get shut down.
But for the most part I think we would be exactly what Nintendo would want, people who love and care for their games so much they spend years of their lives trying to make new experiences for people who have legally bought and still own one of their games.
I also doubt this far into the run of things that anyone who hasn't bought NSMBW will buy it purely to play Newer, I think we missed that window by a year or maybe even two...

I think they don't like it when people only use hacks to make the game have cheat codes on, but like the fact that people use hacks to be creative with their game. Or, maybe they just don't like hacking at all. :P

Do you all anticipate any more special releases (Summer Sun, Holiday special, etc) before Newer is released? Or do you think the next release will be Newer itself?
