Mario's Grand Adventure

Mario's Grand Adventure

Postby Void007 on Thu Jan 19, 2012 2:17 pm

Hello everyone, I am VoiD007 and I have been designing NSMBWii levels for over a year now, so I decided it's finnaly time to start a project of my own, and thus MGA was borned.
The main goal of MGA is for the player to experience a whole new set of fresh, fun, well designed and multiplayer friendly levels. My main insipration to start MGA was Another SMBWii, so I hope I can produce a project that is as good as Another SMBWii, but doing it on my own would be very difficult, so I will need help. I am fine on doing all the levels, but unfortunatly I am not well in the graphics department, so I will need help from someone that is excellent and experienced in texturing (Making new tilesets from scratch and custom backgrounds).
Of course none would want to help in a project without knowing a thing about it, so here is some loaddown. MGA is going to be an entire game project, meaning all of the retail levels shall be changed with longer, more complexed and well designed levels with multiplayer support, which is the main point of the project. It's also going to feature a dozen of new graphics, such as tilesets and backgrounds, and lots of new music. Here is an example of some of my work (except the textures, credit goes to Pop for those):

(Note that all levels in the pictures are World 1 levels, I like to make the levels in order : P, Also, for some strange reason the far right parts of the pictures are cut off, so I apologize for that)

If you wish to help me out with the project feel free to pm me here on the forums, and I will respond as soon as possible. If you have any questions/suggestions/comments about the project feel free to post in this thread (Please try to stay on topic). I will update this thread with project updates when there are updates that you guys should know of.

~Sincerly, VoiD007.

Sorry, I could have spelled it better ... I said your hack looks very promising (unlike Super Mario, New Super Luigi World and things like this :| )

Are you going to hack the levels only?

Well without help with others, then yes, it's mostly going to be great new levels with some new music.. If I do get help from a texture expert though, you can expect more : )

What help are you looking for? Does it include texture experts and level designers?

Congratulations. You are better than I thought (and I knew that you're good  ). Well, your description could also be used by me. This means that it surely become good. I hope you can top Another (that's also my target  ). My sign is just that I work completely alone (and I must say that I'm better at making custom tilesets than at making levels).

Just one question. Is there a special option for your png editors to make this zigzag pattern? I saw it often and I'm asking how do you do it. By scratch??? That would be difficult :?

And another question:
I'm also background maker and I ask how large is the texture you use. When I replace the texture it looks blurry. Is it because I use SZS Modifier? Brawl Box doesn't work and SZS Modifier modifies also the texture  unfortunately  .

UPDATE: This project is most likely to be discontinued due to the lack of free time I have to work on it, I apologize to anyone who was looking forward to seeing more about this project.
