I've been thinking alot about release DIOS MIOS and all the piracy stuff and
I think DIOS MIOS can even help prevent people making money from piracy (i.e. Wode)!

My current plan for DIOS MIOS:

July private-alpha (private as in me)
Aug closed-beta (previous donaters)
Sep open-beta (you!)

These are only rough time frames, it will probably take way less time than planned.

DIOS MIOS will only work with games you own (on pressed discs, DVD-/+R do not count).
It will include a dump mode which allows you to easily and quickly dump your games.

Many asked how donate to me, please understand that donating won't buy you access to the closed-beta!!!
Here you can donate via paypal http://crediar.no-ip.com/donate.php
(This is an account from a friend of mine who will manage the donations)

If you have any questions just ask here and PLEASE let the answering to ME.
(answer will be added to the Q&A!)

Will we be able to use .iso images?

And what's about people who's Wii DVD drive is broken or that have modchip installed, but still have original GC games?

Anyway, just sent you $26.32 - sorry, I don't have any more money on my PayPal account right now.

Can i make a partition for it?
Can we still play burned DVD Gamecube backups like WiiGator did with GC Backup Launcher?
And if so,does it really need MIOS patching?

Interesting. Are the game dumps dumped with DIOS MIOS going to have some kind of security/anti-piracy signature that allows DIOS MIOS only to launch them?

do you need a certain fomrat on your Hard drive ? like FAT , or does it use its own special format (ala wbfs) and does it need its own partition, or can it be the same partition used for wii games?

Looking forward to checking it out when you think it's ready. I have 70+ games that I would love to be able to put on the hard drive.

Actually, what's the point in preventing pirating of a dead console's games?
Nobody sells new GC games anyway, so game developers don't earn anything now, so they aren't harmed in any way.
And by the way, if you'd allow .iso loading, then it'd help preventing people from making money from piracy even more - because if you'll restrict it to original discs, shops that sell secondhand games will be really happy - they'll get a lot of customers, but game developers will still get nothing. I actually think that buying secondhand games is even worse than piracy, and by restricting DIOSMIOS to legit discs, you'll help people selling secondhand games.

My feeling is that crediar owes no one anything. He can do whatever he wants since it's his code. Gamecube games are real cheap to buy these days which is how I was able to amassed 70+ games.
