12%? Wow, maybe we will have to wait for 1 more year. :(

Go buy a sarcasm detector first.

I don't need a sarcasm detector to do this, thanks for the help. :lol:

It was pretty obvious.

Does anyone really think they would be pressing on with Newer if it were 12% completed at this point?

Not a chance, they'd be having a bonfire with the remnants of the project.

Nope. Then it would take approx 15 years to complete. The Wii would be as dead as the N64 is now, and even the youngest members here would be almost 30 years old.

Anyhow, I had a question but I forgot.

Will you be able to have Yoshi on the overworld like in SMW? That'd be a pretty cool thing. :D

This NEEDS to happen! I am 100% behind you on that, that was a feature that I couldn't understand why it wasn't in the original NSMBW anyway. If that's incorperated into Newer, I would be over the Moon in joy. :D

Also, it would be pretty cool if Yoshis had their own powers. Probably their equivalents in SMW. So

Green=normal
Pink=fire
Yellow=Stomp
Light Blue=Fly

etc. etc.

I'd imagine doing that would be really hard. Nintendo probably didn't allow players to keep have inter-level yoshi action simply because he's broken. There's a list somewhere on the forum of what yoshi doesn't work with, and it's kinda long. I don't even think he works with water...unlike his SMW counterpart.

Also, yoshi makes most levels stupidly easy. If you could carry yoshi anywhere, NSMBW would have been even easier than it already was. I mean, that flutter kick is beast. I guess you could design the game around that, but aren't nearly all of Newer's levels done?

My Friend Alejandro Is Going To Sign Up Today, And He Wants to Know How To Hack His Wii How Should He Do It ?

Shut The F*ck Up. STFU. It's an acronym, and deserves to be individually capitalized. What you're doing does NOT deserve to be individually capitalized. So go back to grade school and learn how to type. Better yet, go invest in that new Pokemon typing game that's coming out, or ask around for a summer school class in grammar or writing. Just please, stop making posts like that, it makes my eyes bleed.

Anyway, on a constructive note, NSMBW Yoshi sucks. Horribly. Go read this and you'll learn why Newer will likely have only a few levels with Yoshi present, and those levels will likely be very basic. Maybe, just MAYBE, NSMBU will have world-map Yoshi, since it seems to have an SMW overworld. Which would be cool. But. Probably not. Newer will 100% not have such thing, and in fact no NSMBW hack from now until the end of time will have that feature because it's just not worth the investment.

Don't forget they have to test out every single little edit to the code they make. It's a massive trial and error process.

Yeah, I thought the your post itself was useful, but it wouldn't make sense without the trash posts around, so I just grabbed one and added it.

This question goes to the coders. When NSMBW first came out, how did you figure out how the game works in order to hack it? For example, how did you manage to design Reggie! and infer how the World Maps functioned in order to create a map engine/ editor. Did you rumage around the ISO to discover the files which do what you are looking for, then edit them to your liking and design a program around editing what you need. I'm finding it difficult to explain what I'm asking, however an answer back, that doesn't get TOO technical will be greatly appreciated! Thanks. ^_^

Even if there was a way to fix Yoshi, you would still need a way to limit him-same as now-otherwise you would need to design all of your levels with Yoshi as a possibility. On the other hand, if he was fixed you could have him in only one world, after which he would be gone. But another problem presents itself right away: what about if you lose him in the levels design with him in mind? So now, you have to balance it out, or, you code the game so you cannot lose him in that world, i.e. Yoshi's Island.

If people want to focus on Yoshi, then why not edit a game that was designed for him-YI.
Personally, I'd like it if Treeki or Tempus created an editor for Yoshi's Island. The one's that exist now are horrible. Texahor started to make one with full capabilities, but he keeps putting it off. I've played around with a lot of different editors, but Reggie is by far the best. LM deserves credit as well.
