HAHA I hate the fact a simple stupid spike sprite wont do what I tell it too and the fact I should of thought to check this before I made the greatest conveyor spike level ever and didn't think to test it first at some stage in the 2 days it took to make lol

Just throwing this out there with conveyor spikes: some sprites are always loaded, others aren't. Conveyor spikes load individually when you get a certain distance from them. This will cause them to seemingly randomly distribute themselves on the conveyor. It's nothing you're doing wrong, trust me.
I make levels, tilesets, and sweet sweet love for Newer. I also leave your breath smelling minty fresh!

so is that what I'm essentially experiencing with the Stretching Mushroom Platforms then when they keep disappearing on me? I don't know if it's Zone Settings (tried Zoom 1,2,3, Bias etc), or if there's too many of them in the level, or if they are too close together, or if they are positioned too high above the zone border or what.

I would kill for a thread by you guys with all the stuff you've learned... just random tips. Or just add them to my Tips thread when you have a chance. One or two at a time or something. I know it would save my life and I and many others would be eternally grateful. OOooooo.

Dude thanks, will zoom out abit and space them out abit more and see if that helps, making a gnome level at mo. Jason helped me make some great looking gnomes.

When is the NEWER SUMMER SPECIAL coming out? and what are we to expect? Same as the XMAS PROMO? a small teaser of tilesets and special edits.

I so wanna steal your tileset running at the bottom of your NEWER PAGE lol Its very nice

Do you mean the start of July?

Should we see these specials as a preview of Newer or as a standalone project? Are any of the tilesets and music tracks used in the specials being used in the full release of Newer?

All the music I’ve heard in the trailers and in the Xmas special so far is excellent btw, so I am really looking forward to the music in Newer. Are you reusing any of the tracks included with NSMBW or is every track made/remixed by your own musicians? Thanks guys.

Oh, July indeed.

They're standalone projects, but sometimes content in them might be from newer or to-be-used in Newer.

Summer one has no content from Newer, though.

Good to hear that there's a summer special, my hands are itching to play.
Quite longing for the music especially, as the Newer X'mas Special music is epic. :D

By the way, do you have plans to release Newer by the end of 2012?

Hmm cryptic. That doesn't mean it doesn't have any new content that was originally created for Newer and maybe not used in Newer. :)

btw... I fucking hate Stretching Mushroom Platforms!

No, it genuinely has no content from Newer. Period.

Well, except a couple of themes, I guess.

I'm looking forward to the Summer Special. Nothing like quality levels. Speaking of which how many do think there will be? :?:

The newer page mentions 130 levels when the full Newer game is released.. Off the top of my head that seems like definitely more than NSBW. Any insight into how this will be "divided up" between worlds? (I.E., ghost levels on such and such worlds, ships on such and such, etc.) Is World 9 the standard 8 levels like in NSBW? Any consideration to finishing World 9 up with a World 9 Castle?

And if any of this information is still not yet available for public knowledge, I understand, just trying to get some specific ideas for how this will look!

Thanks again for all the hard work!

If you'd want to divide Newer, you'd have to consider many different criteria. You could divide it into about 16 or so, or you could say there's only 9 worlds, or you could say there are 3.

So it has a different sort of level/world scheme map? Not like the traditional 1-1, 2-4, 9-6, etc, is what you mean?

Indeed.

For instance, we have levels marked as "C-F"

Good! 23 levels can have me occupied for half the summer.
"C-F"? Quite a new way of naming levels.
