I completed work a week or two ago on a Brawl Mod Launcher, using plans outlined by Dantarion. It's a Brawl Mod Launcher, which can launch Brawl+, Brawl-, P:M (when released), Unstoppabrawl, Balanced Brawl and two custom ones (if there are any released in the future). It also has support for character textures, stage textures, custom music, sound effects, and opening/SSE movies.

Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?ztw5dxyejmq

You will also need "codehandler.bin" in the "riivolution" folder: http://www.smashmods.com/downloads/braw ... andler.bin

Where to place everything:
=========== Where do I place my mods? =================== X:/brawlmods/bbrawl/ - Balanced Brawl. RSBE01.gct goes in this folder, as well as all of the other "pf" files. X:/brawlmods/brawlminus/ - Brawl Minus. RSBE01.gct goes in this folder, as well as all of the other "pf" files. X:/brawlmods/brawlplus/ - Brawl Plus. RSBE01.gct goes in this folder, as well as all of the other "pf" files. X:/brawlmods/ubrawl/ - Unstoppabrawl. RSBE01.gct goes in this folder, as well as "fighter". X:/brawlmods/custom1/ - Custom Set #1. RSBE01.gct goes in the root of this folder. Contains "fighter", "info", "info2", "menu", "menu2", "module", "stage" and "system" folders as well. X:/brawlmods/custom2/ - Custom Set #2. RSBE01.gct goes in the root of this folder. Contains "fighter", "info", "info2", "menu", "menu2", "module", "stage" and "system" folders as well. X:/brawlmods/projectm/ - Project: M. RSBE01.gct goes in this folder, as well as all of the other "pf" files. X:/brawlmods/vbrawl/ - Regular Brawl. RSBE01.gct goes in the root of this folder. Contains "fighter", "info", "info2", "menu", "menu2", "module", "stage" and "system" folders as well. =========== Where do I place my music? =================== X:/brawlmods/music/ - Where you place "info.pac", and optionally, "smashbros_sound.brsar". X:/brawlmods/music/strm/ - Where you place all of your BRSTM files to be used in game. =========== Where do I place my textures? ================ X:/brawlmods/textures/fighter/ - All of the character textures go here, e.g. X:/brawlmods/textures/fighter/captain/FitCaptain00.pac X:/brawlmods/textures/info/ - Anything that belongs in "info" goes in here. X:/brawlmods/textures/menu/ - Anythin that belongs in "menu" goes in here. X:/brawlmods/textures/menu2/ - Anything that belongs in "menu2" or "pfmenu2" goes in here. X:/brawlmods/stages/ - All stage textures (pac) + any module files (rel) go here. =========== How about my movies (THP files)? ============= X:/brawlmods/movies/ - Place any THP files you have in here.

Enjoy.

Great! This should make things a lot easier for less experienced users!

As a question of interest, how much of this will be able to work with PAL software, and what will I need to do to get it working on a PAL system? Will it only run the PAL compatible game sets (that excludes at least B-), will it require rewriting of the XML etc.
I ask to avoid some problems in the future, as I play brawl relatively often and having it go down thanks to a stupid error on my part would be... embarrasing, to say the least.
I apologise for the trouble, but I am XML-illiterate and the code looks much too complex for me to be risking trying anything short of changing RSBE01 to RSBP01 without outside help.

near anything works for pal but not the codes in the .gct files even if you replace RSBE01 to RSBP01 in the XML still not working

Wow. The more I explore this forum the more awesome it is. I've asked about this in smashboards and smashmods and nobody had anything like this!

Thanks

OK, but this is over 2 years old... are you telling me there's no better or newer way to have been released since? I've never tried any of the Brawl mods. In fact, I've never played Brawl. I rented it once (just to copy the disc ... shhh...) but back then I couldn't get the rip it to work anyhow cause I was using the old WBFS filesystem which was riddled with issues and my IOS's weren't up to date I guess... this is all irrelevant lol... and all before I discovered Riivolution btw. Using the whole codes thing turned me off of trying the Brawl Mods in the end... and I still have yet to play the original.

Moral of the story: Don't bump old topics

You HAVE to play Brawl, Jason. It's a really awesome game.
Single-player: Great.
Multiplayer: MADNESS. If you got anyone to play with, Brawl is like heroin. It's that fun.

I've struggled with Gecko OS too, I don't understand why the modders won't work Riivolution instead.
Isn't that even easier...?
